So, what else can you do to save water?
Look into installing a Grey Water system.
Grey water is defined as “all wastewater generated in households or office buildings from streams without fecal contamination. Sources of greywater include, e.g. showers, baths and clothes washing machines.”
Grey water is generally safer to handle and easier to treat and reuse onsite for toilet flushing or gardens, provided the use of non-toxic soap and personal care products are not used. If you do use these products, you may not be able to irrigate your garden. Find out more about the move to Grey Water systems here.
Keep your water pressure low.
At home, you can keep your water pressure as low as possible. If you ensure all your water outlets are fitted with low-flow taps and shower-heads, this will help too.
